Certificate of Participation in Managing Records from Creation to Disposal
Course Objectives:
Records of an organisation should be managed from their creation through to their eventual disposal when some records which have served their purpose will be destroyed, and those with evidential and historical value will be preserved as archives. Effective and efficient management of records ensures access to accurate records for a range of operational and strategic purposes. It also ensures that legal obligations are met for the creation and retention of both paper and electronic records. This includes controlling the number of records created and stored, and identifying which records are to be preserved and those which should be destroyed. This course introduces participants to the importance of records and the practice of records management. Participants will learn what it means to manage records throughout their entire life cycle applying accepted principles and standards and in conformity with Namibia’s legal and regulatory framework.
